A Short Biography of Robert Di Marco
Robert Di Marco (43) Chairman and CEO of GSA International Group, LTD. - Mr. Di Marco has overseen the Company since its inception, managing day to day operations, customer acquisitions, joint ventures, contracts negotiations and compliance issues. He supervises all negotiations within GSA Group and builds a well versed management team. This experience has been essential in leading GSA Group to seize strategic opportunities in the natural resource markets.
Mr. Di Marco is the founder of Global Services Advisory, which began in 2002 f/k/a Knight Consulting Group, an international sourcing and consulting company. He has served as chief executive officer at GSA, steering the Company to constant growth and innovation in international markets and industrial commodities. Since 2002, Mr. Di Marco has grown GSA from a start-up consulting and product sourcing business, to a global facilitator of physical commodities, all while positioning the company as the next leader in acquisition and distribution of energy products and soft commodities focusing in 2009 on launching GSA Energy LLC. Robert’s vision and business acumen have allowed a 20 year entrepreneurial career initially as a commodity trader with Univest, trading precious metals and then Currencies. His career then advanced to the equity markets, international finance & banking, technology and global sourcing/import-export. Robert’s leadership, vision and determination have enabled him to seize market opportunities, trends and leverage them quickly in good economies and bad. Mr. Di Marco, while President of Viking Investment/IHC Holdings, was instrumental in the precedent setting reorganization of Standard Oil of Delaware into American Resources and the Acquisition and Merger of Southern Gas, including acquisitions of Gulf Platforms and Natural Gas Pipelines in North America, setting reorganization trends throughout the energy sector. Robert never shies away from controversial issues. His tenacity and willingness to address tough issues head on has earned him respect and high regard. In 1999, this resolve awarded him the Turner Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was also voted in 2000 as one of the top Up and Coming CEOs in the south east.
Mr. DiMarco also foresaw early on, the use of the internet as a medium for streaming visual media and developed eActive one of the first online video marketing companies in North America whose clients were top tier Fortune 100 companies. Management successfully sold the company and patents to the French technology group Pentacel in 2001.
Robert attended Nassau Community College and St John’s University with focus on Finance and Pre Law, a graduate of the NYCPD Academy and has attended numerous PLI, classes focusing on Finance, Import- Export and executive responsibility. Mr. Di Marco is a constant contributor and team leader with Habitat for Humanity. He is married and is the father of two boys and spend his time between Dallas TX and Palm Beach, Fl.
